History of Zelda
The Legend of Zelda debuted on February 21, 1986 with its first game, The Legend of Zelda, for the Famicon Disc System, then continued with the Legend of Zelda II: the Adventure of Link for the Famicon Disc system in January of 1987. Then both were released for the NES in December of 1988. The legend continued with the Legend of Zelda: a Link to the Past for the SNES system in 1991, then for the Game Boy Advance on December 9th, 2002, and finally the Nintendo Virtual Console in January 22, 2007. Then came The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening for Game Boy, then for the Game Boy Color in 1998 as The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX. Finally came the 3-D game, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo 64 in November of 1998. Sheik appeared for the first time in this game as well as good pictures of Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf. A young Zelda was in this game for the first time also (though in the games before, we don't know how old she was). Next came The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask in November of 2000. The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons, both released simultaneously for the Game Boy Color, came next. The legend continued with The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords for Gameboy Advance. Released next was The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker for the Game Cube, then for the Nintendo DS. This was the first game to feature Tetra. After Four Swords Adventures for the Game Cube, which was the second game to have more than one Link, and the Minish Cap for Game Boy Advance, Nintendo came out with another big hit, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, for Wii and Game Cube in November and December 2006. Soon came The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass for Nintendo DS on June 23, 2007. Another DS game, The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, came out on December 7, 2009. This was the first game to feature a cartoon Zelda in her princess form for the whole game. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was recently re released for the all new 3DS. Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is soon going to be released for the Wii. Some of these titles have been re released for the Virtual Console on the Wii. Link, Zelda (Sheik), and Ganondorf feature in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, though only Link is in Super Smash Bros. and him and Zelda are in Melee.
